Dear patients,
Firstly, we hope you and your loved ones have been keeping safe and well during these uncertain times.
Your safety and confidence are paramount, and so we have been working tirelessly to keep up-to-date with all guidance and measures relating to COVID-19. We have put a number of extensive safety measures in place, over and beyond recent guidelines, to ensure an even safer environment for you, our team, and the wider community.
All members of staff are tested for Coronavirus twice a week. This is to detect any asymptomatic positive individuals and therefore ensure that our workplace is kept safe.
Before your appointment, a member of our team will text or call you to carry out a screening questionnaire for COVID -19, which will then be reconfirmed on arrival at the practice. We may ask you questions about any changes to your medical history so that we can update our system in advance.
In order to maintain social distancing, we aim to limit the number of people entering and leaving the practice. Please try to arrive only a short period before your appointment.
If possible, please attend alone. We understand that some of our patients, especially children and individuals with disabilities would need to bring an accompanying person along; please let us know in advance if you plan to attend with a family member or carer present.
Before entering the practice, we may use a non-contact thermometer to record your temperature. If it exceeds 37.8°C, we will be unable to admit you and would advise self-isolation and testing, in keeping with government guidance.
Upon entry, we request all patients to use hand sanitiser and a member of staff will direct you straight to the waiting areas or your clinician’s surgery.
You’ll likely notice an increased level of PPE our clinicians and nursing staff are using as recommended by recent evidence, but don’t be alarmed as this is purely a protective measure. Once your appointment is complete you may need to wait with your dentist for a period until the reception staff are able to see you to help control the flow of people through the practice and maintain social distancing.
Whilst we pride ourselves on the level of our infection control, we will be going even further with regular cleaning of all surfaces around the practice, additional disinfection measures in surgeries, and medical grade air purifier and filtration systems. The amount of seating in the waiting room has been reduced to encourage social distancing and to have easily cleansable surfaces.
Please do not attend if you have reason to think that you are at risk of being infective, even if you are without symptoms. Similarly, if you have been asked to self-isolate after a possible exposure to someone with COVID-19, please inform us as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding for this necessity.
Please ensure that we have your up to date contact details, including your email and make any payments via card (contactless if possible).
We cannot thank you all enough for your ongoing understanding and support during this difficult time. We look forward to seeing you soon.
